Early Learning & School Readiness

The Early Learning and School Readiness Team provides services to school districts, Head Starts, County Boards of DD, parents, Help Me Grow and other agencies and programs that serve children ages birth through eight, both regular and special education. Services are designed to support successful involvement of high quality practices with local, state, and federal mandates and initiatives. Services include technical assistance, regional, program-wide and job embedded professional development and consultation.

  • Early childhood programs involvement in the Ohio Improvement Process
Third Grade Reading Guarantee
  • Supporting early learning programs (preschool-3rd grade) with high quality practices for all learners
Itinerant Network
  • Supports itinerant teachers with implementation of the Consultative Model and provides networking among the region and state to support quality practices
Special Education Compliance
  • Implementation of Ohio’s Operating Standards for Children with Disabilities
  • IEP and ETR trainings and technical assistance
  • Training and technical assistance to support successful inclusive practices in early childhood settings
  • Technical Assistance on SPP Indicators 6 (Preschool LRE), 7 (Preschool Child Outcomes), and 12 (Early Childhood Transition)

  • Early Intervention (Part C) to Preschool (Part B)
  • Preschool to Kindergarten
Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS)
  • Supporting early learning strategies that connect with building wide PBIS plans
